Worries high student debt levels are negatively affecting the health and studies of students

Students leaving study with a bachelor's degree in 2016 had a median student loan of 32-thousand 300 dollars, up from 19-thousand dollars a decade ago.

Lincoln University Researcher Sylvia Nissen students with higher debt often have poorer academic performance and mental health.

She says loan pressures also see more students drop out of their studies.
