Eddie Osei-Nketia will be wearing black on the track rather than the field for the forseeable future

Eddie Osei-Nketia will be wearing black on the track rather than the field for the forseeable future

The promising sprinter has committed to representing New Zealand and has a 100 metre personal best time of 10.19 seconds.

It's understood Osei-Nketia had received six figure offers from Super Rugby, NRL and AFL clubs.

Osei-Nketia's father Gus says with the Tokyo Olympics next year, he believes Eddie can run a lot faster than what he currently has.

He says he wants Eddie to run as fast as he can before he decides if he wants to change sports.

Eddie Osei-Nketia will represent New Zealand at next month's Oceania Championships in Townsville.
