An Adam Reynolds injury has paved the way for Nathan Cleary to keep his State of Origin jersey

An Adam Reynolds injury has paved the way for Nathan Cleary to keep his State of Origin jersey

Cleary's been retained by New South Wales coach Brad Fittler, though is Penrith halves partner James Maloney's been dropped for Cody Walker.

Reynolds suffered a knee injury on Saturday night, and Fittler says he and Walker would have been a strong duo in the halves.

He says the combination with Walker could have been valuable, but the cards fell, for Cleary to get the nod.

Queensland coach Kevin Walter will name his side later this morning.
