The next chapter for the Northern Stars will have to be lead by their young core

The next chapter for the Northern Stars will have to be lead by their young core

The 52-48 ANZ Premiership grand final defeat to the Central Pulse was the last outing for veterans Temepara Bailey, Leana de Bruin and Ellen Halpenny who are stepping aside.

Bailey is expected to return to her role as assistant coach.

Head coach Kiri Wills says with all three leaving the court, the younger players will need to step up now.

The next stop on the netball calendar for many players will be a four team series at the ending of the month including the Silver Ferns and and All Stars side, made up of the best of the rest from the ANZ Premiership.
