Work on a redesigned, resurfaced, safer road to Gisborne's port starts tomorrow

Work on a redesigned, resurfaced, safer road to Gisborne's port starts tomorrow

The $4.5 million upgrade is part of a $137 million Provincial Growth Fund package to help unlock Tairawhiti's economic potential through stronger, safer and more resilient transport connections.

Gisborne mayor Meng Foon says the road is important to the region because it takes their goods to ships to be exported to the world.
