The New Zealand hockey sides have let leads slip against Germany overnight in the FIH pro League

The women's side has lost 2-1 while the men's team has drawn 3-all and then lost the bonus point shootout.

Italy's scored a late winner to overcome Australia 2-1 at the women's football World Cup.

England's beaten Scotland 2-1 and Brazil's eased past Jamaica 3-nil.

Russia's ban from international track and field has been extended for a further three months, because of concerns it's "backsliding" on doping reforms.

Successful title defences for kiwis Braden Currie and Teresa Adam have stamped their authority on the Ironman Asia-Pacific championships.

The win punches Currie's ticket to the world championships in Kona, while Adam has opted out.

A couple of upsets to wrap up round 13 of the NRL, with Gold Coast beating the Broncos 26-18 and the Panthers seeing off the Roosters 19-10.
