It's too early to tell if teacher aides and other support staff will take industrial action

They're starting two weeks of union meetings today, to plan for upcoming collective agreement negotiations - with pay equity high on the agenda.
It's similar beginnings to their teaching counterparts, who have been engaged in months of failed negotiations with the Ministry of Education of their own collective agreement.
NZEI President Lynda Stuart says discussing strike action is further down the track.
She says the first step is bringing the staff covered by the Support Staff in Schools Collective Agreement together to discuss what's needed moving forward.
