KL Rahul to replace injured Shikhar Dhawan in Indian batting order at cricket World Cup, starting with tonight's NZ match
KL Rahul will temporarily replace the injured Shikhar Dhawan at the top of the Indian batting order at the cricket World Cup, starting with tonight's match against New Zealand in Nottingham
13 June 2019
Dhawan fractured his left thumb in a man-of-the-match performance against Australia, but batting coach Sanjay Bangar says he'll be kept in the squad while they check the prognosis over the next 10-12 days.
The Indian specialist batsmen are now solely right-handers.
Left-hander Rishabh Pant has been brought into the Indian camp as cover, but is yet to become an official member of the squad.
