The New Zealand Blood Service is on the hunt for more plasma donors

More are needed so there's enough plasma in hospital to treat patients.
Today is World Blood Donor Day and the call is out for another 55-thousand blood donors to add to the already 110-thousand in New Zealand.
New Zealand Blood Service marketing and communications national manager Asuka Burge says rising demand is driving a need for plasma donors.
She says they have fewer than 10-thousand plasma donors and they're looking for three to four thousand more.
