KiwiRail's boss is celebrating the opening of the Napier to Wairoa rail line today

KiwiRail's boss is celebrating the opening of the Napier to Wairoa rail line today

It's been closed for seven years but a 6.2 million dollar boost from the Provincial Growth Fund will see freight being moved on it once again.

CEO Greg Miller says his team has put in a huge effort over the last year-and-a-half.

He says there's 500 metres of new track and 150 kilometres of work that's been done to get the corridor re-opened.
