A man has been tasered in south Auckland after having a go at firefighters and police

Police were called to assist Fire and Emergency staff at a fire on Carlie Street, in Papatoetoe around 11.30 this morning.

They say a man at the scene was acting in a threatening manner towards fire staff.

Police say once they arrived on scene, the man continued to act aggressively towards their staff.

A police officer discharged a taser and the man was arrested and taken into custody.

Cordons are in place around Carlie Street.
