Getting your daily dose of vitamin C proved pricey, with oranges reaching a record price last month

Statistics New Zealand has today released its food price data for May.
Oranges rose to a record $4.58 a kilo.
Consumer prices manager Gael Price says global dairy auction prices have also risen this year, pushing the cost of cheese up at the supermarket.
A kilo of mild cheddar rose to its highest price in almost five years.
On the flip side, the cost of broccoli, potatoes, and cabbage fell with the cooler weather.
