    Pets are allowed on Auckland trains and platforms from today


    However the furry friends will only be allowed on board outside peak times, at weekends, and on public holidays.

    And they have to be in a cage or carrier that can fit on their owner's lap or under a seat.

    Councillor Cathy Casey, says Auckland Transport's testing the waters.

    She says the trial worked in Wellington and she expects it to be just as successful in Auckland.
