Kiwi amateur golfer Amelia Garvey's fallen short of qualifying for the women's British Open

Kiwi amateur golfer Amelia Garvey's fallen short of qualifying for the women's British Open

The 19 year old has finished second at the British Ladies Amateur Championship in Northern Ireland, losing the strokeplay final 1-down to England's Emily Toy.

She was aiming to match the winning feat of fellow Kiwi Marnie McGuire, who triumphed in 1986.

A win would've seen her secure a spot at the August tournament.
