The Department of Conservation says all its staff working in the Kermadecs are safe following a magnitude 7 quake

It says all seven workers based on Raoul Island have been accounted for.
DOC says there are no contractors or visitors on the island, which is the largest in the Kermadecs.
It's not sure about any damage at this stage, but says staff on the ground will assess this.
