A close-knit aviation community's been rocked by a mid-air collision in Masterton
17 June 2019
The two pilots died yesterday morning near the Hood Aerodrome.
The aircraft involved were one that had just taken skydivers up into the air, and a plane for training pilots.
Masterton mayor Lyn Patterson says she's been receiving lots of calls from the community.
She says the airfield is well-used by a lot of recreational flyers and everyone's expressing their sorrow about what's happened.
