    Police have released the name of a man who died in a light plane crash at Coromandel Forest Park


    He was 78-year-old James Albert Evans of Whitianga.

    The light plane disappeared from radar about 4.30 Friday afternoon, after taking off from Whitianga Airport that morning.

    Rescuers found the wreckage - with the pilot's body inside - about 10 yesterday morning, near the north end of Coromandel Forest Park.
