Pakistan's empty record against India at cricket World Cups has extended to seven attempts across 44 years, this time in Manchester

After posting 336 for five, India won by 89 runs via the Duckworth-Lewis method with Pakistan set 302 to win after rain disruptions.

Pakistan captain Sarfraz Ahmed has been asked if the rivalry between the two countries is now obsolete.

The result pushes India level with New Zealand in second equal on the table with seven points - Pakistan are ninth on three.
