Heartbreak once again for the New Zealand women's football team at a World Cup
21 June 2019
For the fifth time the Football Ferns have been eliminated from the group stages of the FIFA showpiece having failed to win a game.
New Zealand's lost 2-1 to Cameroon in their final group game in Montpellier, a game they needed to win to progress as one of the four best third placed teams.
Coach Tom Sermanni is frustrated they haven't been able to deliver.
He says you always feel a sensation of failure when you don't win any games but that has to be tempered with the reality they came up against some tough teams in a tough group.
The Netherlands have topped the group after a 2-1 win over Canada.
