Greater Wellington regional council's signed off a 5.9 per cent average rates increase for the region

Greater Wellington regional council's signed off a 5.9 per cent average rates increase for the region

The increase will be in effect for the 2019-20 year.

Wellington city will see an 8.9 per cent increase, because of property revaluations last year.

The council also agreed to a comprehensive review of its revenue and financing policy.
