Some say the Government needs to refocus funding, to do what's best for New Zealanders

Some say the Government needs to refocus funding, to do what's best for New Zealanders

The New Zealand's OECD economic report recommends taking money from KiwiBuild and putting it into social housing.

Property expert, Ashley Church says there's an argument the market's providing for first home buyers and the KiwiBuild scheme isn't needed.

He says over the past 12 months, the 10 largest developers have produced more than ten-thousand homes - with no help.

Housing Minister, Phil Twyford doesn't agree, saying the Government's already committed to building public housing.
