Wellington's transport plan is expected to get a second vote of support today

Wellington's transport plan is expected to get a second vote of support today

The city council will discuss Let's Get Wellington Moving this morning after the regional council backed advancing the first stages yesterday.

Early work includes improvements to walking, cycling and bus priority in the central city.

There were some concerns from regional councillors about the project.

Councillor Roger Blakeley doesn't think it's delivering on targets - with it only set to reduce private vehicles coming into the city by six-thousand.

He says one of the core objectives is to reduce reliance on the private vehicle and it's currently not a step change.
