Population growth and technology advances will lead changes in Auckland's workforce over the next decade

Auckland Council's economic development agency commissioned a report into to look at what skills would be required for the future.

MartinJenkins senior consultant Nicky Jones says it became evident there are issues of skill growth.

She says employers need to embrace technology, and realise technology won't replace people power.

Jones says those who don't embrace technology face becoming irrelevant.

It's predicted Auckland will see 200-thousand new jobs by 2029 - mainly in construction and professional services.
