Landlords are being urged to double check their rental properties are up to standard

Landlords are being urged to double check their rental properties are up to standard

From today, it's compulsory for rentals to have ceiling and underfloor insulation.

Failure to do so could result in a fine of up to four thousand dollars.

Director of ManageMyProperty Wellington Richard Horne says it pays to double check.

He says most rentals are insulated but chances are it no longer meets the standard if it was installed a number of years ago.
