Gridlock in Auckland CBD should ease slightly today, after the re-opening of Victoria Street West

Gridlock in Auckland CBD should ease slightly today, after the re-opening of Victoria Street West

The busy intersection was closed off on Thursday, after a 40-kilogram panel fell from the Victopia apartment building.

However, part of Nelson Street down to Fanshawe Street is expected to be closed until the middle of the week.

Auckland Transport spokesperson Mark Hannan says there could still be some temporary lane closures with some scaffolding still to go up.

He says it shouldn't be too disruptive - with lane closures to most likely to happen during off-peak times.
