Small forest blocks will feel the effects of falling log prices

"A" grade logs have fallen from about 140 US dollars a tonne - to 110 US dollars.
PF Olsen is New Zealand's largest independent forest manager.
Sales and marketing director Scott Downs says larger blocks will likely cut back on harvesting, but smaller blocks could be hit hard.
He says they wouldn't recommend anyone start a small job in the next couple of months ... and those crews risk running out of work.
