An Auckland architect is facing a rare charge of stealing trade secrets

Michael Davies is on trial in the District Court.
The court's heard alarm bells sounded for his employer, Context Architects, when it discovered him downloading thousands of intellectual property files onto a memory stick.
Davies is accused of taking the company's annual business plan, project files and pricing models including project plans for school developments.
The trial is expected to last two weeks.
