    Firefighters in Christchurch are still trying to get a blaze at a large derelict building in the suburb of Riccarton under control

    Firefighters in Christchurch are still trying to get a blaze at a large derelict building in the suburb of Riccarton under control


    They say the fire is contained, and is being battled by 15 fire crews.

    Earlier residents in 50 nearby houses were evacuated, but they have since been allowed to return to their homes.

    Riccarton and Wharanuio roads are still closed, and are expected to be closed for some time.
