A Tauranga man's been banned from owning a pet for five years after he threw his girlfriend's dog against a wall

Alexander McGregor said the dog was preventing him relaxing.

The dog was left blinded in one eye.

McGregor was also ordered to pay a two thousand dollar fine to the SPCA - and reparation of about 800 dollars to the dog's owner.
