Consumers and retailers are being urged to push for recycled matter in plastic packaging

Consumers and retailers are being urged to push for recycled matter in plastic packaging

The Government's giving three million dollars to Pact Group, to create New Zealand's first 100 per cent recycled-plastic food packaging.

Associate Environment Minister Eugenie Sage says using only totally recycled material that can be recycled again at the end of its life, helps create the shift to a more circular economy.

She says there needs to be a demand for recycled plastic products to drive that shift.

Sage says it's critical companies like Foodstuffs and Countdown use these materials in their packaging.
