    A man has been arrested after allegedly damaging a car with a firearm in Hawera


    The Armed Offenders Squad was deployed and cordons were put in place this morning.

    The man was arrested in Okaiawa about 2pm and an air rifle was also recovered.

    The 27-year-old man will appear in the Hawera District Court later this week charged with wilful damage.
