Hemi Taylor has today admitted unlawful possession - and reckless discharge - of a firearm.
Late last month a Napier neighbourhood and four schools were placed in lockdown as police descended on Taylor's house.
A standoff continued for nearly 12 hours, until Taylor handed himself over.
He's been remanded in custody until sentencing late next month.
Bail was denied over concerns raised by Oranga Tamariki that children live at the proposed address.
