Victim advocacy groups are delighted by a push they say would protect children from convicted sex offenders

Waimakariri MP, Matt Doocey, is putting a Members' Bill in the ballot today - which would require Corrections to notify schools of sex offenders placed in the community.
Sensible Sentencing Trust spokeswoman Jess McVicar says it's something they've been pushing for for years.
She says while rehabilitation is important for offenders, the safety of the community is paramount.
