The Court of Appeal's dismissed an appeal by a Wellington man against his sentence for shooting a taxi driver
19 July 2019
Dylan Nuku was sentenced to seven years in prison after shooting driver Alem Tessema in 2017.
Nuku pleaded guilty to charges of wounding with intent to cause grievous bodily harm and unlawfully possessing a firearm last year.
His lawyer appealed his sentence on grounds that Nuku's mental impairment and remorse should've been taken into account.
The Court of Appeal ruled both had been considered in sentencing - and dismissed the appeal.
