Joy for Ngati Rangi as its settlement Bill passes its third reading

Treaty Negotiations Minister Andrew Little says the central North Island iwi always supported the Crown - but suffered under the colonial regime.
They'll have an apology, 17 million dollars - and acknowledgement of their link with the Whangaehu River.
Little says the iwi is essential to Tongariro National Park.
He says the Crown established the park in 1907 without consulting Ngati Rangi, and failed for almost a century to provide any meaningful role for the iwi over their most treasured maunga .
