The Otago Regional Council has stepped in after complaints about a large green-waste fire - at the foot of the Remarkables.
The fire had a permit from the Fire Service..
Compliance manager, Martin King, says the owner's been told not to add to the fire... or start any new ones.
He says it's likely there'll be lingering smoke in the area and the regional council will be investigating.
