A letter from Tony Gibson dissects numerous flaws he believes are in the 14-million-dollar Tamaki Drive cycle route.
He says it highlights Auckland Transport's disregard of cyclist and pedestrian safety with hundreds of trucks entering the port each day.
Gibson also claims AT has ignored concerns that a curbside cycle route could increase the risk of truck accidents.
But AT portfolio delivery director David Nelson has responded saying the scheme has been safety audited.
