    Dunedin butcher Greg Egerton has been named New Zealand's Butcher of the Year


    The Countdown Dunedin Central butcher took top honours at last night's Butcher and Butcher Apprentice Awards in Auckland.

    Canterbury's David Baines took the prestigious Christie Awards for services to the meat industry.

    Countdown's Cherise Redden was crowned the top Butcher Apprentice.
