A suggestion National might back prisoner voting rights ... to butter up the Maori Party

The Waitangi Tribunal is urging the government to overturn the ban on inmates voting, saying it breaches Treaty rights.
Head of the Howard League for Penal Reform Mike Williams believes Labour's Maori caucus will drive change, with the Greens' support.
But he says it may all depend on New Zealand First.
The former Labour Party president is also interested in the position National takes.
He says it may be inclined to oppose the change, but will also not want to offend the Maori Party.
