Convicted child sex offender Peter Ellis hopeful ahead of Supreme Court case
Convicted child sex offender Peter Ellis is feeling hopeful, as he prepares to take his case to the Supreme Court
12 August 2019
Ellis served seven years in prison after being found guilty of sexually abusing children at the Christchurch Civic Creche in the 90s.
The 61-year-old has terminal cancer.
He says it will be up to the Supreme Court to decide whether evidence given by the children was improperly obtained.
He says children are children, adults are adults, and we all make mistakes.
Ellis says sometimes our memories fail us and we don't get it quite right.
