Students at Te Puke High School are now allowed to sport clean and tidy facial hair
13 August 2019
The policy change comes after a student's father objected when his son was stood down because of his facial hair.
Until now, male students had to be clean-shaven.
The Bay of Plenty Times has confirmed the change under the Official Information Act.
Te Puke High principal Alan Liddle says the board of trustees had consulted students, staff, parents/caregivers and the community about the change.
