    The man being hunted by Southland police for nearly two days has been caught and taken into custody


    Armed officers were searching for 24-year-old Hori Gemmell after a dramatic confrontation with police on Wednesday ended in his allegedly stealing their car and a pair of their pistols.

    Police will be providing an update in the next half hour. .
