Canterbury home buyers can now look up a house's earthquake claim history

Canterbury home buyers can now look up a house's earthquake claim history

Minister Responsible for the Earthquake Commission Grant Robertson says the information's hard to come by if a house has been sold several times.

The information will be on Environment Canterbury's website and will list the EQC claim number only.

Robertson says about 25 percent of properties won't be included, and nor will claims from the Valentine's Day earthquake in 2016 and the Kaikoura quake.
