Telecommunications giant Spark is putting its profit growth down to forward thinking

The company's reported a 12-percent increase in profit to 409 million dollars for the year to the end of June.
Its revenue was virtually unchanged at just over 3.5 billion dollars.
Spark chairwoman Justine Smyth says the rise in earnings is down to its ability to continue to grow in the highly competitive market.
She says its held its broadband position and entered new markets like sports streaming.
