The New Zealand men's sevens Olympic team will likely be without any All Blacks

The New Zealand men's sevens Olympic team will likely be without any All Blacks

In a bid to ease disruption around 15's players linking up with the side, as was seen for the 2016 Games, New Zealand Rugby has allowed Super Rugby players to be released from their clubs.

They are Blues wing Caleb Clarke, Chiefs outside back Etene Nanai-Seturo, Hurricanes wing Salesi Rayasi and Highlanders midfielder Scott Gregory, with no Crusaders players interested.

NZR's head of high performance Mike Anthony says the players have shown their own interest and coach Clark Laidlaw's then decided who he thinks best suits the group.

That's all at no extra cost to the player.
