Health officials in the US have linked vaping to nearly 200 people with a severe lung illness

Health officials in the US have linked vaping to nearly 200 people with a severe lung illness

It comes as the first person dies from an illness linked to the popular cigarette alternative.

The US Centre for Disease Control is still investigating the cluster of lung illnesses ... saying while the cases appear similar, more work needs to be done to properly establish vaping as the cause.

It also hasn't linked the illness to any specific product, and some patients had been vaping with cannabis liquids.
