28 August 2019
He moved his fourth generation family business to Auckland in 1974 to escape the unrest in Northern Ireland.
McGredy named a rose after the Queen Mother, one after MP Maggie Barry and another after Scottish whisky maker Arthur Bell.
He's survived by his wife, Jillian, his children and grandchildren.
McGredy was a big rugby fan and his funeral will be held at Eden Park on Monday.
