Outrage at the sentencing of a North Shore 17-year-old who raped two schoolgirls
29 August 2019
The youth has been given 12 months home detention.
The teen was charged with two counts of sexual violation by rape and another of sexual conduct with a person under 16.
Victim advocate Ruth Money says the sentence would stop others from disclosing abuse, fearing a lack of justice.
Money says there is no way the sentence will ever encourage others to come forward.
