Rowing New Zealand boss Simon Peterson concedes it's tough to see New Zealand competing in the men's blue ribbon event at next year's Olympics

The men's eight failed to qualify the boat for Tokyo at the World Championships in Austria, meaning they face an athlete-dubbed "regatta of death" in May to take one of two remaining spots.
Peterson says it can become a distraction.
Peterson says there are no guaranteed seats in any boats for the Olympics.
