The central North Island has been rocked by a 5.2 magnitude earthquake this evening
4 September 2019
The quake struck at a depth of 5.2 kilometres, 15 kilometres east of Turangi.
It was followed a few minutes later by a 4.5 magnitude aftershock.
the quakes shook buildings in the area, but no damage ha been reported.
